Fashion Week #4: Thrifty Thursday!

Welcome to the Silver Fashionista’s first-ever fashion week! You’re very lucky to be here, folks. Please don’t insult any of the models or interrupt the show. Every day Monday-Sunday I’ll be posting three outfit ideas under a certain theme. Make sure to come back every day!

It's Thrifty Thursday, and y'all should be excited. I love thrifting and finding great secondhand deals, along with vintage-inspired designs and sewing my own clothes. Very old-fashioned - I would be the queen of home-ec class if I had one.

Some of you may recognize the dress in this first outfit. Except, wait: it look different. Yeah, when I sewed this the pattern was so hideous. A few weeks ago, however, I went back to fix it up. You'll see the blog post on how I altered it soon! For now, though, I thought it would pair well with a denim jacket, especially since I thrifted + DIYed this. White shoes would be ideal to tie in the jacket, but I don't have any so please deal with my offending fake Uggs.

I am a huge fan of this outfit. I got the top for Christmas, so I've only worn it once before. Since its so ruffled and peasant-y I find it looks best with some contrasting denim. These jeans are more retro than trendy distressed, acid-wash of today. They might actually be secondhand, too, which is kind of like thrifting! Finally, I completed the look with my Zara Doc Martens I got for $10, bought online secondhand. I thought they were a too wild and wouldn't pair with many outfits when I bought these. However, I've never looked back! the shirt

I almost guilty posting this white top in yet another blog post, but it’s genuinely the perfect top. At the time, I wanted an all-white layering top that feels more classic. Since I couldn't find one, I made it! I wanted a classic and posh outfit so I chose a black skirt to pair with it that I may or may not have also made! Lastly, I added a red trench coat over top. When it came to footwear, my black boots it is! This is what I’ll wear when I visit Paris... someday hopefully.

The past three days of Fashion Week were a bit of a stretch for me. Minimalism, trendy and wild are words I'd never use to describe myself. However, today and my themes for Friday, Saturday and Sunday are the best ones! If you want to find out what tomorrow is, I'll put it in the comments below! Here are the past Fashion Week shows:

Bye for now, everyone!
