Craft w. Me - Sewing, Painting, Journaling!

I love every art and craft I've tried. Pottery to origami to scrapbooking and more! Today, I'm branching out and am covering all bases, with journaling, drawing, squishie-painting and DIY clothes!

Wait a minute! I'd like to give a shout-out to two friends of mine. They have a podcast you can find on Spotify and ITunes, where they discuss all sorts of topics and interview their friends. It's a lot of fun to listen to, and in their most recent episode they interviewed me. Look up "Maddy and Ben's Podcast!" for a lot of laughs.

I wanted to put this dress first as I actually DIYed it from something I sewed. My patterns were messed up big time with the original, and the silhouette was the most unflattering thing ever. In December, I finally fixed it. Since the neckline was too wide I straightened it and took up the shoulders. The sleeves were too tight and the dress was too long, so I chopped those off. Finally, there was a huge valley in the front of my dress! I ended up using elastic to cinch in the waist.

The other thing I have DIYed was supposed to be for my charity project (click here for the full story) but I've already been wearing it. It works perfectly with the colours in my closet. This used to be a romper, but I discovered that I kind of hate rompers. They never look good on me, so I chopped off the shorts to make this cute top. All I had to do was shorten the straps and sew across the bottom! Piece of cake.

This is such a masterpiece. Too bad I didn't draw it! I recently got this fashion colouring book with the most beautiful designs. I know colouring books are supposed to be for little kids, but let's break some barriers today! I especially love this girl's design. I gave her comfy pants a rainbow blend, with a purple-pink-orange shoe and a blue-green-yellow shoe. Behind the scenes, I love rainbow. I don't have any rainbow clothing, though. Should I get some?

One of my favourite YouTubers is Moriah Elizabeth, who's well-known for painting squishies. A few years ago I decided to give that a try! The cat ice cream is the oldest squishie I've painted, which is so much fun to play with, and the tart is the most recent. Half vanilla, half chocolate! If it was a real dessert, I'd probably only eat the chocolate part anyway!

Lastly, I wanted to show you a page from my journal. I've been journaling since March, but I've never posted any pages because most of mine are personal. I have one to share with you today, though. I love the format and theme. Using the stickers and paper scraps made this awesome design on the bottom, and the prompt is "what makes me happy." Well, I'm quite happy of this page.

Thanks for reading! Bye, guys!

  1. Let me know if you like this format and if you'd like to see more crafts/art posts in the future!

  2. Apple sauce??? Who knew? Great post!

    1. Haha, the apple juice in my journal entry? Dang it, my messy handwriting!
